When I met the girl with the blonde, wavy hair
and the blue eyes like diamonds I just had to stare
till the walls started closing
and sky caving in
and a voice started shouting
so deep from within,
“Go get her. Don’t let her
get too far away.
If you do then you know
you’ll regret it one day.
Go get her. Don’t let her
get out of your sight.
If you do you’ll regret it
some cold lonely night.”
Then the air started swirling
and the music went dead,
as the thoughts started whirling
around in my head.
And I felt like a bottle
of shook up champagne,
as made my way over
to try to explain
how I’d seen her, had to have her,
and come over to ask her
for a drink, or a dance,
or a chance at disaster.
And to my delight she said,
“I been lookin’ your way,
and when I saw you comin’ over,
that’s what I hoped you would say.”
No we didn’t waste a minute
and we were kissin’ on the floor.
I didn’t have a lick of clothing
by the time we hit the door.
And we went back to her apartment.
She took me back to see her place.
And there weren’t no holes in the ceiling,
but I swear I saw outer space.
And then she took off like a rocket.
Now you can see her in the stars.
You know she’s somewhere East of Eden,
North of Venus, South of Mars.
